Program: 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
NAM panel members Hon. John P. DiBlasi and Richard P. Byrne, Esq. have been invited to present a CLE seminar to the law firm of Blank Rome, LLP. The one hour CLE presentation entitled Arbitration of Commercial Disputes: Hot Topics and Tips will be held at The Chrysler Building, 405 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The CLE program will focus on the benefits of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and more specifically, hot button issues that affect commercial disputes in arbitration today. Given the time, expense and uncertainty involved in traditional litigation within the court system, the benefits of arbitration as a cost-effective and time-efficient alternative are clear. Arbitration affords parties the advantages of confidentiality and privacy, controlled discovery, input into the selection of the arbitrator and finality by virtue of limited rights to appeal.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive exchange with two of NAM's highly regarded neutrals.
Judge DiBlasi is the former presiding Justice of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. For four consecutive years, he was voted the #1 mediator in the United States in the National Law Journal Annual Reader Rankings Survey and for the second year in a row, he was named a National Law Journal 2017 Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of a select group of only 37 nationwide. He was also voted one of the Top 10 mediators in the 2017 New York Law Journal Annual Reader Rankings Survey for the eighth straight year. Judge DiBlasi has arbitrated and mediated over 3,000 cases and his ADR practice centers on resolving Commercial, International, Finance, Employment, Entertainment, Land Use, and Professional Malpractice matters.
For the fourth consecutive year, Richard P. Byrne, Esq. was voted one of the Top 3 Mediators in the country by the 2018 National Law Journal Annual Reader Rankings Survey, and for the second year in a row he was named a National Law Journal 2017 Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of a select group of only 37 nationwide. Mr. Byrne was also voted one of the Top 10 Mediators by the 2017 New York Law Journal Annual Survey for the fourth straight year.
