Judge Palmieri joins NAM after a long and distinguished 25-plus year judicial career which includes 7 years as Justice of the Supreme Court, Tenth Judicial District.  He has had numerous decisions published in the New York State Official Reports. Prior to being elected to the Supreme Court, he served as Acting Supreme Court Justice and on the County and District Courts. He has handled a wide variety of case types both as a jurist and as a practitioner which include commercial, labor law, litigation, construction, professional liability, tort and product liability, matrimonial, real estate and personal injury.

Judge Palmieri has an impeccable reputation for integrity and a broad range of knowledge in different areas of the law. He is recognized as a hard-working detail-oriented judge with superior settlement skills all of which make him well-suited to the role of arbitrator and mediator.

According to the New York Judge Reviews, attorneys who have appeared before Judge Palmieri have commented that his opinions are “well-reasoned and fair to both sides”; “He knows the law, works hard and is fair, measured and unbiased”; “He exercises his discretion to cut through the b.s. and asks direct questions…that is not a criticism…that is what a judge should do.”

Roy Israel, President and CEO of NAM stated, “It is an honor to welcome Judge Palmieri to NAM's esteemed panel of Neutrals. He knows the law and is well-respected by both sides of the bar. Hon. Palmieri has the legal experience and impeccable judicial instincts to make the transition from jurist to private ADR and is a welcome addition to NAM's esteemed roster.”
