CLE Webinar: Best Practices in Drafting Arbitration Clauses

John P. DiBlasi (Ret.), Leslie Corwin, Esq. and Denis F. Kelly, have been invited by the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, to present Best Practices in Drafting Arbitration Clauses. This 1-hour CLE program will be live-streamed on January 11th at 1 p.m. ET to members of the firm.

The program will emphasize the provisions that should be addressed in any arbitration clause and how to avoid the possibility of the arbitration clause being challenged in court or before the arbitrator.

Topics will include:

Meet NAM's Presenters

Hon. John P. DiBlasi, J.S.C. (Ret.)

Judge DiBlasi is the former presiding Justice of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. During his illustrious career, he has arbitrated and mediated over 3,000 cases with an ADR practice that centers on resolving Commercial, International, Finance, Employment, Entertainment, Land Use, and Professional Malpractice matters. In 2021, Judge DiBlasi was ranked a Top Three Mediator in the United States by The National Law Journal Annual Best of Survey for the eighth straight year (#1, 4 years in a row). He was also voted the #1 Mediator in the country by the Corporate Counsel Best of Survey and for the third straight year, was named a National Law Journal Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of a select group of only 46 nationwide.  Further more, for the eleventh consecutive year, he was voted a Top Ten Mediator in the 2020 New York Law Journal Annual Best of Survey.   Judge DiBlasi has consistently been designated a Super Lawyer and holds an AV Preeminent Peer Rating from Martindale-Hubbell in both Alternative Dispute Resolution and Litigation – a distinction given only to those who possess the highest ethical standards and professional ability.

Leslie D. Corwin, Esq.

Mr. Corwin is a successful and well-respected attorney whose practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, liquidations, dissolutions and bankruptcies. As one of the nation's foremost authorities in business divorce disputes, he has negotiated hundreds of cases on behalf of the principals, partners and senior executives for many of the country's leading investment banks and private equity firms, international and national law firms, accounting firms, broker-dealers, hedge funds and real estate developers.

Denis F. Kelly

Highly regarded throughout the corporate finance communities, Denis F. Kelly brings more than 35 years of leadership and experience in investment banking and negotiating both public and private transactions, documents, and disputes. A longtime advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Mr. Kelly draws upon his wealth of experience in negotiating complex business transactions and agreements when mediating or arbitrating in the private ADR forum. With extensive mergers and acquisitions experience, Mr. Kelly has been involved in private company and family disputes helping to resolve both complex financial issues and interpersonal conflicts.
