DiBlasi (Ret.) and Rodolfo Rivera, Esq., of Fidelity National Financial, will present a webinar titled, Best Practices in Drafting Arbitration Clauses. This complimentary 60-minute CLE program will be live-streamed on Wednesday, March 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
Arbitration agreements must conform to the interests and needs of the parties. This program will address the various terms that may be considered in drafting a clause or an independent agreement where there was no arbitration clause in the original contract. The speakers will discuss the provisions that should be addressed in the arbitration clause or an agreement to arbitrate. The focus will be to avoid the possibility of challenges before the arbitrator or in court and ensuring the efficiency of the process through careful drafting.

Credit Information
This course is approved for experienced and newly admitted attorneys. Attorneys will receive 1.0 credit in the Areas of Skills. For New York CLE attendance verification purposes, any course codes announced during the program must be recorded on the affirmation form available on the CLE Board website.

Meet the presenters
Hon. John P. DiBlasi (Ret.) is the former presiding Justice of the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. He has arbitrated and mediated more than 3,000 cases with an ADR practice that focuses on resolving Commercial, International, Finance, Employment, Entertainment, Land Use, and Professional Malpractice matters. In 2022, Judge DiBlasi was ranked a Top Three Mediator in the United States by the National Law Journal Best Of Survey for the ninth straight year. He was also voted the #1 Mediator in the country by the Corporate Counsel Best Of Survey and he was named a National Law Journal Alternative Dispute Resolution Champion, as part of a select group of only 46 nationwide. Further, in 2021, he was voted a Top Ten Mediator in the New York Law Journal Best Of Survey, for the twelfth consecutive year. Judge DiBlasi holds an AV Preeminent Peer Rating from Martindale-Hubbell in both Alternative Dispute Resolution and Litigation – a distinction given only to those who possess the highest ethical standards and professional ability. Judge DiBlasi is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout the United States.
Rodolfo Rivera, Esq. is a well-known figure in the U.S. in-house legal market. He is chief international counsel for Fidelity National Financial – a Fortune 500 company that provides insurance, claims management services, real estate solutions and information services. Mr. Rivera manages all of Fidelity's corporate and litigation matters outside of the U.S. and has had a particular focus on Latin America in recent years. Mr. Rivera's understanding of global businesses has allowed him to oversee Fidelity's international expansion – at one point coordinating attorneys in 34 countries to ensure insurance policies in each country were issued correctly. He has held a number of wider roles within the in-house legal community, including at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) as the International Committee President and as a member of the Global Board of Directors.
