About the Presenters

Judge Scheinkman is a member of NAM's (National Arbitration and Mediation) Hearing Officer Panel and is available to arbitrate and mediate cases throughout the United States.  He is the former Presiding Justice of the Second Judicial Department of The New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, where he heard appeals of a wide variety complex litigation matters that included business disputes, labor and employment partnerships, landlord and tenant, commercial foreclosure cases, business receiverships, business torts, matrimonial and family law, trusts and estates, defamation, land use and construction, health law and wage and hour cases.  As an appellate judge, trial judge and litigator, he has handled all types of employment matters that include breach of contract, trade secrets, confidentiality agreements, covenants not to complete, wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and wage and hour disputes. Justice Scheinkman was voted the #1 Arbitrator in New York State in the 2021 New York Law Journal Best of Survey. 

Mr. Levin is a Senior Counsel at Ballard Spahr and a member of the firm's Consumer Financial Services Group and Litigation Department. His practice is focused on consumer financial services litigation, and he has particular experience in the structuring and enforcement of consumer arbitration clauses and the defense of financial services companies and insurance companies in consumer class actions. Mr. Levin helped pioneer the use of class action waivers in consumer arbitration agreements and played a leading role in opposing the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's arbitration rule. In 2007, he testified for the lending industry before a subcommittee of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee at an oversight hearing on whether mandatory arbitration provisions in consumer contracts are fair to consumers.

Mr. Licker joined Wayfair in September 2020 as its first head of litigation and Investigations.  In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all disputes and responding to government investigations worldwide. Prior to joining Wayfair, Licker was a partner at the law firm Foley Hoag LLP where he specialized in high stakes commercial litigation, internal investigations, and white collar criminal defense.
