Hon. Andrew J. Peck (Ret.) To Receive the 2022 Lifetime Achievement eDiscovery Hero Award

New York, NY (February 17, 2022) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is honored to announce that NAM neutral, Hon. Andrew J. Peck (Ret.), will be the recipient of the Hon. Shira Scheindlin Lifetime Achievement in Ediscovery Hero Award. This award, along with several others, will be presented as part of The Discovery Hero Awards program which will be held virtually on Wednesday, February 23rd at 7p.m. ET. The award itself, is named after Hon. Shira Scheindlin (Ret.), a former U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York and also a NAM neutral.

For over 20 years Judge Peck has served on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and is frequently recognized for a trilogy of key decisions supporting the use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR). In addition to being a hearing officer for NAM, Judge Peck is Senior Counsel at DLA Piper, a Judicial Emeritus lifetime member of the Sedona Conference Working Group (E-Discovery ) Steering Committee and is Chambers ranked in e-discovery.

About Hon. Andrew J. Peck (Ret.)

Judge Peck served with distinction for 23 years as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Southern District of New York, including a term as Chief Magistrate Judge from 2004 to 2005. During his tenure as a Magistrate Judge, he issued more than 1,500 published opinions and settled hundreds of cases. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Peck was in private practice for 17 years, with a focus on commercial and entertainment litigation, including copyright and trademark matters, with extensive trial experience. He is known for his innovative and efficient solutions to the challenges of information management, both within and outside the litigation context. A recognized thought leader and frequent speaker on electronic discovery (e-discovery) issues, Judge Peck is recognized internationally for bringing e-discovery competency to the attention of both the judiciary and bar.

The New York Law Journal called Judge Peck “one of e-discovery's most influential figures.” His many accolades include being a Chambers ranked in Band 2 by Chambers and Partners in their 2021 Chambers USA guide in Nationwide E-Discovery & Information Governance. He was also honored by being named a Judicial E-Discovery Innovator in the Top 50 Innovators of the Last 50 Years by The American Lawyer magazine.
