New York, NY (September 21, 2022) – NAM (National Arbitration and Mediation), one of the nation's leading providers of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to announce that Jennifer Herscovici, Esq., a NAM neutral, and Sara Wyn Kane, Esq., founding partner at Valli Kane & Vagnini LLP, have been invited by The New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers to present Women in Law: 2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back. This complimentary 60-minute CLE webinar will be live streamed on Tuesday, October 25th at 1 p.m. ET.

Ms. Herscovici, Esq. and Ms. Kane, Esq. will discuss the history of women in law and the impediments, statistics and recommended solutions for the advancement of women in authoritative roles in the legal field.  The program is based upon reports by the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association in 2017 and 2020 entitled “If Not Now, When?  Achieving Equality for Women in the Courtroom and in ADR.”  The panel will also address the pandemic's impact on women. Attendees will also learn:

• the history of women in law and how the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section of the NYS Bar Association reported on the disparities of women in law;
• changes and improvements made and where women in law are now;
• how we can move the needle with the support of law firms, in-house counsel, outside counsel, the judiciary, ADR providers; and
• how to establish procedures and policies to increase the appointment of women in all areas relating to the practice of law.
