Pillinger, Executive Partner at Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP, have been invited by the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers to present What Happens in the Breakout Room: The Secrets of Multi-party Defendant Labor Law Mediations. This complimentary 60-minute CLE program will be live-streamed on Tuesday, August 9th at 1 p.m. ET.
Join Mr. Borkowski and Mr. Pillinger for a behind-the-scenes look at mediation with multiple defendants in a construction/labor law case. Our presenters will provide a unique insight into what goes on in the breakout room with a discussion on negotiating arguments over insurance coverage amounts and order of coverage (who's primary), and what to do when the defendants have arguments between themselves on other issues. Mr. Borkowski and Mr. Pillinger will also discuss the work and preparation that the mediator does prior to the mediation, and much more.

Meet the Presenters:
Mr. Borkowski's distinguished career spans more than 30 years with a practice focused primarily on litigation at the trial and appellate levels in both the state and federal court systems. He has represented insurance carriers, corporations and individuals in personal injury, construction, litigation, general liability, premises liability, property damage, automobile and commercial litigation (both plaintiff and defendant). In 2021, for the second year in a row, Mr. Borkowski was voted a Top Ten Neutral in the New York Law Journal Best Of Survey.
Mr. Pillinger has been a practicing attorney for over 35 years. Prior to graduating Brooklyn Law School, he attended medical school at the University of Paris. He is a noteworthy and prominent attorney in the areas of Construction, Labor Law and environmental and toxic torts and is listed in Who's Who in Environmental Law and Kipling's Who's Who. Mr. Pillinger has vast experience and expertise in complex, multi‑party litigation, Labor Law, Products Liability, lead and environmental cases. He is a lecturer for the New York State Bar Association, N.Y.S. Academy of Trial Lawyers, Environmental Committee of CLM, numerous insurance carriers and brokers and the Insurance Society of Philadelphia. He is former trustee of the Board of Education of the Ardsley Union Free School District.
